Layabouts Earn Clutch Win, 7-6
The Wichita Falls Yardmen got a sterling performance from second baseman Gary Lind, but the Lubbock Layabouts still prevailed, 7-6. Lind was 2 for 5 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Lubbock is now 59-48.

Up to bat in the bottom of the 12th, 27-year old right fielder Silvio Armas had a chance to be the hero. Wichita Falls pitcher Farquhar Morris had other ideas. But with two outs, Armas drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Layabouts had themselves a dramatic win.

"Whenever I help the team," said Armas, "I feel like I earned my paycheck."
