The Wichita Falls Yardmen picked up a win at Yardmen Park, topping the Lubbock Layabouts, 6-5. On the mound for Wichita Falls was right-hander Íñigo León. He played a principal role in the triumph. The Yardmen saw their record improve to 65-48.

The decisive blow was delivered in the bottom of the 11th when Luis Villacorta hit a solo home run off 20-year old right-handed pitcher Amaro Barrancos to win the game for Wichita Falls. The home crowd went wild.

"He who laughs last laughs best," León said, postgame.
