Yodelers Victorious at Waco, 6-4
|
The New Braunfels Yodelers overcame a good performance by Waco designated hitter Bill Anderson to knock off Waco, 6-4, at Mammoths Field. Anderson was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The winner was David Luévano, who threw 120 pitches over 8 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 6 hits. Britomaro Díaz recorded his 8th save for New Braunfels.
Telamón Palma, who is tied for 5th in the FBL-EA in home runs with 22, aided the New Braunfels cause with a run-scoring strikeout in the top of the fifth. For the game, the catcher scored once.
"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Palma. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
The Yodelers, at 53-51, sit in third place in the Eastern Association San Marcos Circuit.
