Late Offense Lifts Odessa to 14-13 Victory
Odessa Fields hosted a classic slugfest.

The Odessa Cowhands beat the Marfa Ghost Lights in a game in which both teams scored early and often. The final score was 14-13, Cowhands. One of the hitting stars was left fielder Hipólito Flores. Flores, who is tied for 10th in the EFBA in bases on balls with 45, went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The third-place Cowhands sport a record of 50-55.

The decisive blow was delivered by Santiago Granados in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a 2-run home run off 27-year old left-handed pitcher Inocencio López to win the game for Odessa. The home crowd went nuts.
