Preachers Lose Late to Horizons
The Horizons grabbed a win, 4-3, at Abilene Grounds, overcoming a fine effort from Abilene pitcher Boland Ryan. Ryan went 9 innings and allowed 3 runs. With this game in the books, Amarillo is 69-52, Abilene 44-77.

Amarillo used the timely hitting of Heráclito Tamayo to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Horizons on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Tamayo. "And not try to do too much."
