Highwaymen shortstop Leandro González had his way with Tempe pitching at Olympians Ballpark and mauled them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Olympians ruined his great day by toppling the Highwaymen, 11-6.
"I had a great day, but you've got to give Tempe credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits."
"Oh, we noticed what González did today," Olympians skipper Matt Austin said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him."
Leandro González doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
In his season totals González has 13 home runs and a .285 batting average.
