The Amarillo Horizons defeated the Abilene Preachers, 6-5, in 11 innings in Western Association action at Abilene Grounds. Amarillo pitcher Jake Church had a standout performance. Amarillo pitcher Jack Carpenter earned the win, hiking his record to 5-3. Herminio Sepúlveda suffered the loss. The Horizons saw their record improve to 70-52.

Taylor James hit a run-scoring triple off Herminio Sepúlveda in the top of the 11th, which put the Horizons in front, 6-5. James had 2 singles and 1 walk, in addition to the three-bagger. For the game, he went 3 for 4.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Horizons manager Chad Newman.
