The Lubbock Layabouts topped the Amarillo Horizons, 6-3, with left fielder Bill Pallard playing a big role. Pallard was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Layabouts in the win. Lubbock pitcher Nathan Mackay got the win, upping his record to 11-19. Ángel Parga got the loss. Amaro Barrancos earned the save for Lubbock, his 6th of the year.

Pallard had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the fourth inning, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Layabouts went on to win.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Pallard told the Lubbock Daily News.

Lubbock is now 64-64.
