Abilene pinch hitter Mason Gilbert was sensational. He was 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Wichita Falls beat the Preachers, 9-6. With the win, the Yardmen have a record of 75-54.

The Yardmen got a lift from center fielder José Barrios, who in the bottom of the sixth stroked a 0-1 sinker to center for a run-scoring single. It was his 98th hit of the season and put the Yardmen ahead, 7-5.

"Their at-bats were really impressive against us," said losing manager Jon Plotnick.
