Hollyhocks Need Extra Frames to Get Past Artists
Santa Fe Hollyhocks starter Rufo Porrata pitched a strong game against the Taos Artists at Taos Grounds, leading the Hollyhocks to victory, 4-1. The Hollyhocks improved their record to 76-56 with the win over Taos.

Santa Fe used the timely hitting of Jerry Voeller to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Hollyhocks on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Rufo is one tough hombre," said Santa Fe manager Héctor García.
