Preachers Lose 4-2 Decision to Lubbock
The Lubbock Layabouts picked up a win at Abilene Grounds, topping the Abilene Preachers, 4-2. On the mound for Lubbock was right-hander Les Haynes. He played a principal role in the triumph. Haynes went the distance for Lubbock. He gave up 2 runs on 9 hits. With the win, Lubbock upped its record to 71-51.

In the top of the second, Lubbock left fielder Samuel García whacked a sinker to left for a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Layabouts in front, 3-1.
