The outcome was not decided until the very end at Horizons Park.

Due in part to left fielder Álvaro Zúñiga, the Amarillo Horizons chopped down the Abilene Preachers, 8-7, in 10 innings. Zúñiga was 3-5 with 3 singles. He scored 2 runs. The winner in relief was Álvar Molina. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 5-5.

The Horizons were down to their final out when right fielder Diego Polanco turned a 0-1 splitter from Hefesto Rubalcava into a 2-run single. The walk-off single made the Horizons Park crowd go wild.

"You play a lot of one-run games," said Amarillo skipper Jesús Alvarado, "and it seems there's one play somewhere in there that changes the game."

The second-place Horizons lifted their record to 67-58.
