Alacranes Sneak Past Henequeneros, 2-1

Mayabeque registered a win at Parque de los Alacranes by beating the Matanzas Henequeneros, 2-1. Pitcher Javier Olivarez was one reason why the Alacranes triumphed. The win belonged to Berengario Leija in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Ivan Peacock took the loss for Matanzas. Mayabeque is 65-53 and Matanzas, with the loss, 54-65.
Quinto Núñez was the walk-off hero for Mayabeque. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Alacranes third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"That's how to finish a ballgame," said Núñez.
