Camaguey and Guantanamo got after it at Parque de Camaguey.

No one was more impactful than Abdón Saldaña in the 14-5 Camaguey win over Guantanamo. Saldaña, who finished 2nd in the TORI in hits with 162 in 1908, went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 3 runs. Jaime Piña, who finished 3rd in the TORI in wins with 19 in 1905, was the winner. He's now 12-12. The loser was Normando Saravia.

Armando Acosta had a big 2-run double for the Tinajones in the bottom of the first inning. With Camaguey leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from Normando Saravia, who is tied for 5th in the TORI with a 4.8 K/9 rate, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 18th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Tinajones ahead, 3-0.

"Win or lose," Saldaña reflected afterward, "baseball is a beautiful game."

The win makes Camaguey 57-62.
