The Kitchener Wild Pigeons picked up a win at Hamilton Stadium, dropping the Hamilton Hammers, 6-1. Roberto Quevedo, who is tied for 8th in the OBA with a 7.6 K/9 rate, was the difference-maker. The Wild Pigeons improved their record to 70-60 by beating Hamilton.
The Wild Pigeons got a big at-bat from second baseman Vicente Ponce. For the game, Ponce went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Kitchener a 2-0 lead.
Quevedo called the win "a collective effort."
