The Brandon Threshers overcame a pretty good performance by Moose Jaw second baseman Bob Brisson, beating the Rum Runners, 6-5, at Rum Runners Park. Brisson went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. Brandon, at 53-48, holds down second place in the Plains League.

Brandon used a timely hit from Martín Montoya to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Threshers ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Montoya.
