Mennonites Lose 8-2 Decision to Winnipeg
The Winnipeg Strikers beat the Steinbach Mennonites, 8-2, at Winnipeg Grounds. Justo Moreno starred for Winnipeg. He went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jean-Yves Ferrand picked up the save, his 20th. With the win over Steinbach, the Strikers improved to 50-55.

The Strikers got an important contribution from right fielder Ryan Leck, who in the bottom of the fifth hit a fastball to right for a 2-run double. It was his 18th double of the season and put the Strikers ahead, 4-1.

"Helping the team win is what it's all about," said Leck.
