Gamero Silences Vancouver Bats
The Kelowna Grizzlies topped the Vancouver Gas, 9-1, in Western League action at Gas Field. The standout performance belonged to Kelowna pitcher and San Juan, Puerto Rico, native Poncio Gamero. The Grizzlies go to 56-53, putting them third in the Western League.

Gamero, a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, was dealing all game. He kept Vancouver hitters off-balance, while giving the Grizzlies 9 quality innings. Gamero threw 122 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 5.

When asked about his performance after the game, Gamero said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
