Willows Lose Late to Mennonites
Steinbach and Saskatoon duked it out and the Mennonites came out victorious.

The Steinbach Mennonites defeated the Saskatoon Willows by the score of 9-8, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Nealon Moore. Moore belted 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for the Mennonites on the day. The winner in relief was Dwaine Woolley. He is now 1-4. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 4.1 innings.

The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Steinbach trailing 8-6, Moore jumped on a fastball from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Miguel Torres and hit a 3-run home run to left. With one swing, the Mennonites had a walk-off win.

"The crowd went nuts," Moore said.

The Mennonites now own a record of 62-51.
