Though the conditions were not ideal, the Inverness Thistles and Glasgow Shipwrights came back from a rain delay to finish their game.

Inverness Thistles starter Carlos Cruz pitched a strong game against the Glasgow Shipwrights at Inverness Fields, leading the Thistles to victory, 9-0. The winning pitcher was Cruz, now 1-0. He tossed 5.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4.

The Shipwrights had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Thistles going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old center fielder Germán Tovar came to the plate. Tovar hit a 3-run home run on a 1-0 changeup from Glasgow hurler Sebastián Flores. It was Tovar's 1st home run of the year.

"I wish every win came this easy," said Tovar.

Inverness now has a record of 1-3.
