Camaguey pitcher Hernán Cruz did his part in helping his team defeat the Manzanillo Martenos, 3-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. In 7 innings, Cruz surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 4. He allowed no runs. Héctor Montes got the save, the 4th for him this season.

Abdón Saldaña had a critical at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the eighth for Camaguey. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Camaguey in front, 3-0.
