Losing Trend Continues for Santa Clara
The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.

The Cienfuegos Elefantes eked out a 3-2 win versus the Santa Clara Leopardos at Estadio de los Elefantes. Nobody did more than pitcher Benjamin McDougall. He was terrific. The winner was McDougall. He threw 8.0 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Santiago Rocha. Rodrigo García notched his 19th save in 27 chances.

Cienfuegos shortstop Fernando Jaramillo helped the Elefantes go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Jaramillo hit a run-scoring single off Santa Clara pitcher Santiago Rocha.

"There is no easy way to lose when you're doing everything you can to win games," said Santa Clara manager Jorge Santana.

The slumping Leopardos have lost 7 straight.
