Pericos Get 14-Inning Win
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Holguin Pericos and Manzanillo Martenos.

The Holguin Pericos eked out a 14-inning, 3-2 win versus the Manzanillo Martenos at Campo de los Martenos. Nobody did more than pitcher Sergio Ríos. He was terrific. Atilano Castaño earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. His record is now 7-9.

Timoteo Romero hit a run-scoring triple off Adrián Concepción in the top of the 14th, which put the Pericos in front, 3-2. Romero had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 6.

"It was a hard game, a hard night," said Manzanillo skipper Bruce Lowry.

With the win, Holguin goes to 76-55, while the Martenos fall to 78-51.
