Tabacaleros Take Down Tinajones, 4-3
|
Trinidad parlayed a decent outing from starter Mariano Sandoval into a solid win over the Camaguey Tinajones. The final score was 4-3. The winning pitcher was Sandoval, now 10-8. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 3. The save went to Casiodoro Herrera, his 4th this season.
Had Frank Lord not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Lord hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Tabacaleros.
"I was able to fill up the zone," said Sandoval.
The victory gives the Tabacaleros a record of 69-63.
