The Puerto La Cruz Timoneles, despite González's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Cumana Atunes at Estadio de Puerto La Cruz. Konan Wray earned the win for Cumana. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 2-0. Tomás Ruiz recorded the save, his 3rd.
Sisto Labraccio, who is rated as the 7th best prospect by BNN, had a direct impact on the outcome. Labraccio contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Cumana up, 3-2.
"Not enough offensively in a winnable game," said losing manager Egidio Martínez.
Cumana is now 5-2.
