Madonnas Stick Foxes with 4-1 Loss

The Cranston Madonnas picked up a win at Madonna's Niche, knocking off the Woonsocket Foxes, 4-1. On the mound for Cranston was right-hander Álvaro López. He played a key role in the triumph. In 8.2 innings, López surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. The win puts Cranston at 2-1.
The Madonnas got a big at-bat from center fielder René Zúñiga. For the game, Zúñiga went 2-3 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Cranston a 2-0 lead.
