Alder Now 7-7 After Beating Browns
|
The St. Louis Browns had to reckon with Cleveland Spiders hurler John Alder. Alder, who is tied for 7th in the WL with a 2.17 ERA, overwhelmed the opposition in the 6-1 Spiders triumph. With the win over St. Louis, the Spiders improved to 35-39.
Alder ran roughshod over the St. Louis lineup. The right-hander allowed just 4 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 7. With the victory, he goes to 7-7 on the season.
"All in all, I thought John pitched a fine game for us tonight," said Cleveland manager Russ McKelvy.
