Winchendon second baseman Chris Holmes was instrumental in helping the Rocking Horses triumph, 6-5, over the Falmouth Submersibles. Holmes was 3-4 with 3 singles. He scored 3 times. With the win, Winchendon elevates its record to 7-10.
Pablo Ortiz had a big 2-run double for the Rocking Horses in the top of the eighth inning. With Winchendon leading 4-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a knuckle curve from Crispín Cruz, who leads the SNEA in quality starts with 4, and swatted a double to right. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rocking Horses ahead, 6-1.
"We'll put this win in the can," said Ortiz, "and go after the next one."
