Rocking Horses Lose as Red Onions Stage Late Rally
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Templeton Red Onions and Winchendon Rocking Horses.

Winchendon got a terrific performance from pitcher Elton Porter, but it wasn't enough to beat the Templeton Red Onions. Templeton won the The House of Sorrow contest, 4-3. Porter threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball for the losing team. The first-place Red Onions have a one-game lead in their division.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Cormick Sweeney came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Winchendon pitcher Elton Porter, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Templeton on top, 4-2.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Sweeney said.
