Melodeons Suffer 5-2 Loss to Headstones

Barre and Bennington got after it at Melodeon Grounds.
Sebastián Morillo, who is tied for 5th in the NNEA in wins with 9, had a strong outing for the Barre Headstones against the Bennington Melodeons at Melodeon Grounds. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 5-2 win. Morillo, the winner, moves to 9-4. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. Pedro Santiago earned the save for Barre.
In the top of the fifth, with the game tied, Bennington allowed the Headstones to go up, 2-0, on a Bennington error.
Rodríguez said, "Whether you hit the ball hard, you walk, you have a long at-bat, 10 or 12 pitches, or you hit a homer, you're just trying to do anything you can do to help the team win."
Barre is now 26-30.
