Melodeons Do In Quarrymen, 1-0

Fans watched the Brattleboro Melodeons and the Rutland Quarrymen fight to the finish.
The Brattleboro Melodeons converted a terrific effort from starter Luis Hernández into a win over the Rutland Quarrymen at Harmonious Grounds. The Melodeons won the game by a final score of 1-0. Noé Félix, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-1. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3 innings.
Had Agüeybaná Hernández not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Hernández hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Melodeons.
"We haven't been playing to the level we want to play," said Rutland manager Jorge Luna.
Brattleboro is now 38-24, Rutland 20-42.
