The rain did not keep Waterville and Bangor from finishing their game.

The Waterville Elms put together a convincing win at River Hogs Park, defeating the Bangor River Hogs, 14-1. Derek Day was one of the hitting stars. He slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for Waterville. José Ocampo got credit for the win, improving to 10-11. He allowed 1 run on 7 hits in 9 innings.

Mateo Díaz had a big run-scoring triple for the Elms in the top of the fourth inning. With Waterville leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a splitter from Serafín García, who is tied for 8th in the NNEA in complete games with 11, and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Elms ahead, 3-1.

Said Bangor manager Aaron Clapp: "We got bush whacked."

The win elevated the Elms to 37-28.
