Bernal Pitches Drawbridges to 3-0 Win
|
Before the game, Rodrigo Bernal said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at The Key Party, the Drawbridges pitcher blanked the Stamford Locksmiths, 3-0.
"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Bernal said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my sinker even when I was behind in the count."
The Mystic starter held Stamford scoreless, giving up 3 hits while registering 1 strikeout and issuing 4 walks.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Locksmiths manager Dave Andress said in a postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."
In 16 starts this year, Bernal has recorded a 4-7 record and a 3.62 ERA.
