3-2 Loss to Gamblers Extends Concord Losing Streak
Concord got a decent performance from pitcher Bill Hopke, but it wasn't enough to beat the Manchester Gamblers. Manchester won the Stagecoach Park contest, 3-2. Hopke threw 9.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Picking up the win was Felipe Mora. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. The left--hander struck out 3 and walked 7. Earning his 3rd save for Manchester was Alfredo Cabrera.

Manchester used the timely hitting of Harry Ransom to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Gamblers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Concord skipper Nicanor Tomasini.

The second-place Stagecoaches have dropped 7 straight games.
