Headstones Handle Melodeons, 4-3
|
The Barre Headstones and Bennington Melodeons played an entertaining game for The Graveyard patrons.
The Barre Headstones picked up a win at The Graveyard, topping the Bennington Melodeons, 4-3. On the mound for Barre was left-hander Sebastián Morillo. He played a principal role in the triumph. Morillo yielded 3 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 10. His record improves to 11-5.
Severo Romero had a clutch hit in the bottom of the seventh inning. With two men out and a runner on 2nd, the Barre first baseman hit a run-scoring single. That put the Headstones in the lead, 4-3.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Romero told the Barre News.
With this game in the books, Barre is 31-37, Bennington 47-21.
