Locksmiths Hang 3-2 Loss on Vampires

Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Stamford Locksmiths and Griswold Vampires.
The Stamford Locksmiths locked up a win at The Key Party, knocking off the Griswold Vampires, 3-2. On the mound for Stamford was right-hander John Mickey. He played a major role in the triumph. Mickey yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 9-7.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Locksmiths had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when catcher Ezequiel Rodríguez hit a run-scoring single. The single came off José González and made the score 3-1, Locksmiths. Rodríguez went 2-4 with 2 singles.
"What's not to like about a win?" said Rodríguez.
The Locksmiths now own a record of 34-38.
