Soto Victimizes Gems
Rain could not dampen the pregame excitement of Providence fans. But the subsequent loss, and a disappointing one at that, to the Pilot Whales had to.

Newport Pilot Whales starter Jacinto Soto was dealing, as his team thumped the Providence Gems, 12-1. With this game in the books, Newport is 43-31, Providence 21-53.

Soto allowed 1 run on 6 hits over 9 innings for the Pilot Whales. He walked no one. With the win, he is 9-8 with an ERA of 3.33.
