The Pit was the site for Northern New England Association action featuring the Bennington Melodeons and Rutland Quarrymen.

The Rutland Quarrymen powered past the Bennington Melodeons, 16-5, at The Pit. Adrián Sierra was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 7, to lead the charge. Ernesto Jiménez got credit for the win, improving to 7-13. He allowed 5 runs on 7 hits in 7 innings.

With Rutland leading 12-2 in the bottom of the fourth, Sierra came up to bat against Bennington pitcher José Romero. Sierra hit a splitter to left for a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season put the Quarrymen on top, 15-2.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Sierra.

The Quarrymen now have a record of 25-57.
