Win Goes to Quarrymen in Tight Contest
The Rutland Quarrymen racked up a win at The Pit, bumping off the Bennington Melodeons, 2-0. Cleto Gómez, who started for Rutland, pitched effectively for his team. Félix Guardado closed it out for Rutland, earning his 3rd save. The last-place Quarrymen are 26-58.

Guillermo Antigua hit a run-scoring double off Ed Murphy in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Quarrymen in front, 1-0. In addition to the double, Antigua had 1 single, while going 2 for 3.

"For the most part, I didn't think they knew what was coming," said Gómez.
