Stamford and Griswold put this game in the books despite some rain.
Stamford Locksmiths starter Federico López turned in a top-notch performance against the Griswold Vampires at Playground of the Night's Children. The result was a win for the Locksmiths, 5-0. López picked up the win for Stamford, going 5 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 6-14. Blas García recorded his 7th save for Stamford.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Harry Allen? The Stamford left fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Locksmiths on top, 1-0. For the game, Allen had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Federico was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Stamford manager Dave Andress.
The Locksmiths now have a record of 38-46 with the win over Griswold.
