Woonsocket Loses Again, 6-3
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Cranston Madonnas and Woonsocket Foxes.
The Cranston Madonnas defeated the Woonsocket Foxes, 6-3, in Southern New England Association action at The Foxhole. Cranston pitcher Vicente Rivera had a standout performance. In 5.2 innings, Rivera surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 7. He allowed 1 run.
Cranston used a well-timed hit by Sebastian Glenn to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Madonnas ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Rivera said.
Cranston is now 46-41.
