Bangor Makes It 9 Straight, Barely
The Bangor Bishops outlasted Riley Brett and the Newport Stevedores, 8-7, in 12 innings. Brett was impressive in the loss. The Newport pinch hitter was 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Jesús González was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Neo Berndsson. The loss makes Newport 2-8.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the 12th for Bangor. That's when 30-year old center fielder Elías Álvarez hit a run-scoring double off Neo Berndsson to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"This game can get contagious when you're going good offensively," said Bangor manager Felipe Mendoza.
