Manchester beat Nashua in a rain-soaked ballgame.
Good production from third baseman Belerofón Escobar helped the Manchester Gamblers topple the Nashua Gatekeepers, 9-8. Escobar went 2-5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Gamblers. Manchester reliever Tom Means picked up the win to move to 4-0. Juan González suffered the loss. Gilberto Solís earned the save for Manchester.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Gamblers grabbed the lead when Escobar hit his 9th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Juan González made it 9-7, Manchester.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Escobar. "And not try to do too much."
Manchester, at 51-45, occupies first place in the Northern New England Association New Hampshire Circuit.
