Newburyport took on Winchendon in front of a lively crowd.

The Winchendon Rocking Horses got a superb performance from pitcher Calvino Mejía, but the Newburyport Deep Ones still won the game, 4-2. Mejía threw 9.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Newburyport is now 47-55.

Newburyport used the timely hitting of Jorge Lefebre to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Deep Ones ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"Winning is the only objective," said Lefebre after the game.
