Rutland Picks Up Another L
|
Barre beat Rutland at The Pit, eking out a 5-4 win. The triumph was primarily due to third baseman Lino Rodríguez. He was 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Atilano Espinosa got the win, improving to 10-14. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 9 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 2. Barre now sports a record of 52-57.
Rodríguez had a consequential at-bat in the top of the fourth for the Headstones. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Barre trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single.
"From the last whatever, five, six, seven games, there's really only one way to go and that's up," said losing manager Eduardo Rodríguez.
