Galván at His Best, Blanks Derry
The Manchester Gamblers did little to support starter Hipólito Galván against the Derry Spuds, but it turned out he didn't need the help.

The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Spuds, striking out 2 and surrendering 6 hits. The performance from Galván allowed Manchester to escape with the 1-0 win, despite an anemic offense.

"Nobody came to me and said, 'Hipólito, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Galván told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."

This year, Galván has posted a 11-14 mark in 30 starts and has a 3.56 ERA.
