Lewiston Loses Again
|
Waterville Elms starter Toribio Roldán pitched a strong game against the Lewiston Quebeckers at The Grove, leading the Elms to victory, 5-1. In 9 innings, Roldán surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. With the win, Waterville pushed its record to 69-51.
Esteban Lois had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fourth for Waterville. With the bases loaded and the Elms leading 1-0, he hit a sacrifice fly.
"We gave it the old college try," said Lewiston manager Arquímedes Santiago. "But the old college try wasn't good enough."
