At The House of Sorrow, the Templeton Red Onions and Winchendon Rocking Horses were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Winchendon Rocking Horses racked up a win at The House of Sorrow, bumping off the Templeton Red Onions, 6-3. Elton Porter, who started for Winchendon, pitched effectively for his team. Porter, now 10-17, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing 1 run.
In the top of the first, Toribio Noda ambushed a first pitch fastball from Kid Carter and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Winchendon a quick 2-0 lead.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Noda.
The third-place Rocking Horses improved to 57-65.
