Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Stagecoaches beat the Spuds.

The Concord Stagecoaches topped the Derry Spuds, 8-4, in Northern New England Association action at Stagecoach Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Concord pitcher Bill Hopke. Hopke, now 12-12, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 11 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing 4 runs.

With one out in the top of the sixth, José Pérez had a chance to do some damage. Derry was trailing 8-2, but had the bases loaded. Pérez came to the plate against Bill Hopke, and hit a sacrifice fly. But it was not enough to complete a Derry comeback.

The win makes Concord 72-51.
