The Waterville Elms used a stellar performance from pitcher Álvaro Piña to throttle the Lewiston offense en route to an extra-inning, 9-2 win at Stade de Lewiston. Waterville reliever Gregory Carroll picked up the win, while Gustavo Santana took the loss for Lewiston. The Elms improved their record to 77-53 by beating Lewiston.

Meliteo Payán's hit in the top of the 11th was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a fastball from Gustavo Santana to right for a run-scoring single. It put Waterville in front, 3-2.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Payán.
